Julius Streicher

(1885-1946). Notorious Nazi anti-Semite and sadist. Received Iron Cross, WWI. Joined Nazi Party, 1922. Publisher of Der Stuermer, 1923-1945. His paper, which reached a circulation of 800,000, urged the extermination of the Jews. Stripped of all Nazi Party offices, 1940, for printing untrue stories about Hermann Goering, but remained on good terms with Hitler. Tried and convicted of crimes against humanity at the Nuremburg War Crimes Trials and hanged on October 16, 1946. His last words were "Heil Hitler."
