| "The Terror of Justice," 4th Printing, Everest House, 1978. Dust Jacket in fine condition with minor wear at corners. Flyleaf signed, "Best Wishes, Maurice H. Stans." Stans served as Ike's Director of the Budget (1958-1961) and later as Nixon's Secretary of Commerce from 1969 to 1972. He then became Chairman of the Finance Committee for the Committee to Re-Elect the President (CREEP). It was in this latter role that he became embroiled in the Watergate scandal. He was indicted on 10 counts of perjury and conspiracy involving a $200,000 contribution from Robert Vesco, but was acquitted. He subsequently pleaded guilty to five nonwillful violations of campaign finance laws and paid a $5,000 fine. Needless to say, this recounting reflects his own unique perspective. $65.00 |
