(December 3, 1936, Atlanta, Georgia-Alive). American playwright. Known for his play Driving Miss Daisy. Received Pulitzer Prize for Drama, 1987. Received Academy Award for Writing an Adapted Screenplay, 1989.

(August 3, 1924, Baltimore, Maryland-June 21, 2003, Long Island, New York). American author. Known for his historical fiction and deep research into his subjects. His books include Battle Cry (1953), Exodus (1958) and Trinity (1976).

Avraham Menahem Mendel Ussishkin

(1863, Russia-1941). Russian Zionist and supporter of Theodor Herzl. Delegate to the first Zionist Convention, 1893. Made Aliyah, 1919. Chairman, Jewish National Fund, 1923-1941. Purchased large tracts of land in Palestine on which to plant trees.
