Reverend Alpha Rex Emmanuel Humbard
(August 13, 1919, Little Rock, Arkansas-September 21, 2007, Lantana, Florida). Televangelist and Gospel Singer. A pioneer in religious television broadcasting. Rex Humbard broadcast his "Cathedral of Tomorrow" from Akron, Ohio, during the 1950s and gathered a large following. He was one of the first of the fundamentalist preachers on the air. In 1973, he became involved in controversy because of questionable investments. Husband of Maude Aimee Jones Humbard.
