Joseph Goebbels

(1897-1945). Nazi Member of the Reichstag, 1928-1933. Reich Minister of Enlightenment and Propaganda, 1933-1945. Reich Commisioner for Total Mobilization, 1944-1945. On May 1, 1945, he poisoned his six children, then shot is wife and killed himself to escape the advancing Allied armies.

Dismissed by Hitler and arrested in May, 1945. Captured by the Allied and tried as a war criminal. Sentenced to death by hanging, he took a capsule of poison and committed suicide hours before his scheduled execution.
